Starbucks
refuses to donate coffee to our service members overseas. They deny
that it has anything to do with their stance on the war or the
military. They say the "coffee donation request was denied because the
official Starbucks donation policy authorizes such gifts only to
officially designated public charities."
Right.
I have to ask a simple question, and everyone should ask the same of
Starbucks. Who writes your policy? YOU DO! How hard would it be to
amend the policy? NOT REAL HARD. Even if Starbucks were to violate its
own policy, who is going to punish Starbucks for doing it? Are you
going to punish yourselves?!
Simple fact is that any time Starbucks wanted to fix this they could, with the mere stroke of a pen.
Until and unless they do, they get not one more dime out of me.
And they shouldn't get yours either.
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff has put out one of those wacky, radical right-wing ideas again. In an interview with the Associated Press, he actually suggested that maybe people should "prepare" (whatever THAT is) for a disaster so the government could concentrate on those who were poor or otherwise unable to take care of themselves. For some strange reason, this crazy man up there in D.C. thinks we can actually do something on our own and NOT run to the government screaming every time we get a booboo or run out of batteries for our Game Boy! He even had the nerve to suggest putting the message out in schools so the students would take it home to their parents! He actually suggested that while you're busy getting rescued from your own pathetic, lazy stupidity some old folks who ACTUALLY need help will die because the government is taking care of you and not them. Well, the pathetic lazy stupidity part was added by me, but you get the idea. Reaction was swift and predictable.
Michael A. Wermuth, homeland security director at the RAND Corporation, said "Even something like Katrina — where everybody watched that unfold and understood what those poor folks were going through — as compelling as that was, we're all busy people. And how long does it stick if you don't get reminded again and again and again?" Excuse me? If you need to be "reminded again and again and again" that a disaster is coming and your family might just MAYBE NEED SOME SUPPLIES FOR THAT, then you are a moron. You do not deserve the right to reproduce. You should be transported to the Island of Misfit Men (and women, don't get upset, feminists). Gee, I'm too busy to make sure my family has food, water, blankets, and maybe some raingear or spare clothes in case my town blows away. Sorry kids, Daddy was too busy because the government didn't remind me enough.
It gets worse! Dr. Vincent Ferrandino, executive director of the National Association of Elementary School Principals said that going through the schools is a bad idea for this. "Schools need to be a place where important issues are discussed," Ferrandino said. "But we need to be careful that we don't use the schools constantly for everybody's latest and greatest new idea." He implied also that this wasn't absolutely necessary and not a matter of national importance. Again, EXCUSE ME? Sorry kids, we don't have time for the "latest and greatest new idea" about saving your family's lives or anything. The daily schedule is far too busy, what with all the Planned Parenthood presentations, the "Heather Has Two Mommies" book signing and the Brady people coming to teach you about how evil your parents are if they own guns. We're too busy trashing Bush in our classrooms and banning Christmas references. We just don't have time for stupid Republican ideas like "survival" around here. Plus, if we taught you that and you survived the next disaster on your own, you wouldn't blame Republicans for not saving your idiot parents because they finally decided to stop being idiots.
The problem in this country is that we have become a bunch of...well, let's just say it rhymes with wussies and starts with a "p". People think they're tough because they brave the cold and go skiing once in a while. They think they're real brave because they know how to talk trash and beat up smaller people. They think that if their car is better than yours they own the world. They think that "caring" about the environment and taking nature walks makes them superior. Then the hurricane comes and the first words out of their mouths are "where's the government?" They can't survive overnight without screaming about how somebody needs to get here because "people are starving, etc." Never mind that you can't "starve" to death for weeks. You can live without water for three days if you have NONE. Just two days after Wilma, people were talking about lack of food "today" because FEMA ran out. Please give us a break and jump off the nearest bridge. You're just too weak, too lazy and too stupid to live, and most of your neighbors are too.
It doesn't take ANY effort to fill up a few empty 2 liter bottles with water. It doesn't take ANY effort to buy a few food items at the sporting goods store or even the grocery store that don't require cooking or water to eat. It doesn't take ANY effort to pick up a backpack at Target or Walmart (you can also get the food there, AND bottles to put water in it too) and put those things in it. You go to these places all the time ANYWAY. Now shove a blanket or two and basic supplies like toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste. etc. in there. Flashlights and batteries might help. If you have babies, formula, diapers, etc. go in there too, right? If you run out of room, get another pack and spread out the load. If you hear the disaster coming for a whole week, make sure you have gas in the car BEFORE everyone runs to get it. Maybe get a five gallon can and fill it too, then keep it tied down in the trunk. Put some of your supplies in there too, so you have spares in case something happens and you can't get to the supplies in the house. You might even make sure you have extra ammunition for your firearms, which may directly save your life. Oh, wait, you're anti-gun too, aren't ya? That's okay. After all, if the people of New Orleans could count on the police, so can you. Right?
HOW HARD IS THAT? You can do everything I just outlined in less than two hours. You can get most, if not all of the supplies AT ONE STORE for crying out loud. Get your fat behind off the couch, or out from in front of your computer, or off your stupid cell phone and PREPARE yourself and your family, you soft, miserable excuse for what we used to call a man! In the fifties, when nuclear war was on the minds of American everywhere, people built bomb shelters and prepared to live two weeks or more on their own. Now you can't live two DAYS?
By the way, if it all comes down tomorrow, don't try to loot my house or attack my family. We'll have all the supplies we need, so we won't be trolling for help the first day, and we'll expect you not to come and try to take ours. If you do, you're going to find out that having a better car than we do (with ski or snowboard rack), being bigger than we are (because you go to the gym a lot, even though you have a sit-on-your-butt white collar job) or caring more about the environment than we do will not provide food for you to eat or blankets to keep you warm. And it certainly will not make you bulletproof. Everyone in the house has a gun and knows how and when to use it. In other words, we'll be ready. If you aren't, that's on you. It's not on FEMA, it's not on the military, it's not even on Bush. It's certainly NOT going to be on my family.
Remember the old saying that goes "lack of preparedness on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part?" It doesn't.
Prepare, or face the consequences.
In a recent interview on Fox News Sunday, Laura Bush says she doesn't believe the low poll numbers of her husband. Despite the repeated polling and varied sources of those polls, she just doesn't buy it. Well, that makes sense. Apparently her husband doesn't buy all the polls that say Americans don't want amnesty for illegals, want a wall on the border, and want the military on the border too. Not to mention the ones that say we favor drilling in ANWAR and offshore, because that's the fastest and easiest way to alleviate the oil crunch. Despite all those polls, her husband just goes on about his merry way. There's a reason, and those of you who are die-hard Bush supporters won't like hearing it. President Bush is a traitor.
Yes, you heard that right. He is a traitor. He is a traitor to his oath of office, he is a traitor to his party, and he is a traitor to the voters who elected him, the voters he now ignores so he can give this country away to Mexico, one state at a time. Let's tally it up, shall we?
He's a real tough guy on defending the country right? Is that why he refuses to enforce our immigration law? Is that why he refuses to tell Mexico to cease supporting the invasion of our country? He loves to spout "national security" ten times a day, but leaves our border wide open. And yes, HE is doing it. Congress authorized funding for 2,000 additional Border Patrol agents two years ago. The agency has deployed less than 200. The Border Patrol actively tells the Mexican government where the Minuteman volunteers and others are patrolling. When the Border Patrol starts getting a little too aggressive, the Mexican government calls the district chiefs and tells them to back off...and they do. Effectively, the Mexicans are running the entire Southwest Border Patrol area, Bush knows it, and does NOTHING. Instead, he calls civilian patrols "vigilantes" and threatens THEM. Since Bush is chief executive of the country and all agencies dealing with immigration enforcement and border security are executive branch agencies, Bush could at any time make them actually do their jobs. Yet, for five years, while ranting about the threat to America, he has refused to do so.
Bush constantly insults Americans every chance he gets by saying, in a tone that sounds like he's calling us idiots, that we need illegals to "do jobs Americans won't do." That's an insult to us every time he says it, and he doesn't care, because for some reason he's more concerned with the rights of illegal Mexicans than with the rights of American citizens. Maybe, just maybe, El Presidente, if we didn't have a flood of illiterate peasants being aided into this country by YOU, the labor market wouldn't be artificially depressed and then Americans would do those jobs. Instead, you choose to say to the world that Americans are just too lazy with both your statements and your tone. You could choose to actually let ICE go after easily found illegals, yet every time a photo-op sweep is conducted and the Mexican government protests, that sweep program not only stops but we APOLOGIZE for it.
By the way, do you really believe that the man who lets Mexico run our border and calls Americans "vigilantes" and lazy is putting the National Guard on the border to actually seal it? Of course not. He wants to be able to say "see, I'm enforcing the border" so it will be easier to get his amnesty passed. Once that happens and November is over, those troops will go home. Remember, he could have done it any time since 9/11, but refused. Why now? Not to mention the fact that you can count on those troops being barred from actually stopping illegals, and they will probably be prohibited from carrying loaded weapons, if any. In other words, the National Guard will be there to guard the border, but like the Border Patrol and Minutemen, they won't be allowed to actually guard it.
Before the election, drilling in ANWAR came up several times, and Bush actively supported it. As soon as the election was over, we get "America is addicted to oil," followed by a long list of environmental fantasy nonsense. No mention of ANWAR. No mention of the fact that we haven't built a refinery in this country in almost 30 years, and there's no more capacity. Even if it started raining oil, gas prices wouldn't change a wit because there aren't any refineries to make gas out of it. A brief mention of nuclear, but nothing is being done. Instead we get hydrogen cells, wind, solar, etc., blah blah blah. Our "Big Oil" president is apparently in the pocket of big environmentalism after all. Again, national security? Right.
Even in airline security, the very first thing to get beefed up (if you believe Bush) after 9/11, is a joke. Pilots have been authorized by Congress to carry guns, yet almost none do. Why? Because our "national security" president's TSA made the screening and training process so intrusive and costly that few pilots want to go through it. Apparently we can trust the pilot with several hundred tons of aircraft and the several hundred lives aboard that aircraft, but only as long as he's unarmed?! This in addition to the fact that within a month after 9/11, three major airlines were fined millions of dollars for screening too many Arab men! They were fined for racial profiling! And now, those same geniuses that are strip searching white couples with infants while waving through Ahmed al Kaboom (you can't single out more than two Arabs per flight or you get fined for profiling...I am NOT kidding) have now said it's okay to carry box cutters and other small blades again. After years of confiscating such dangerous items as (and these are real examples, folks) a G.I. Joe doll's rifle, the Medal of Honor from a 90+ year old war hero, and of course arresting five men for reading HELICOPTER flight manuals aboard an airliner, we're not only not allowed to screen for the most likely hijackers, but we're going to let them have their box cutters back.
This is all Bush's fault. Why? The idiot and his progeny who are running the FAA and TSA that are doing all this amazingly stupid stuff is Norman Mineta. Norman Mineta of the Clinton Administration! Norman Mineta, of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, which apologized to Japanese interned during World War II, while pointedly leaving out all the Germans and Italians who were similarly interned. In fact, this administration is riddled with Clinton holdovers that Mr. "national security" Bush refuses to get rid of, even though they do things like those described above, and are the source of all the leaks of our CIA and NSA operations. If he cares so much about protecting our country, why has he never done anything about cleaning the Clinton vermin out of our defense agencies? In fact, the one Republican put in charge of the CIA who actually did something about national security just got fired. There's your reward for actually doing your job in this administration, Porter Goss.
Meanwhile, we continue to die in Iraq. Don't get me wrong, I supported going to Iraq and I still do. Still, it makes no sense whatsoever to stay there while our airliners are vulnerable, the borders are wide open and in fact are being actively kept that way, and gas is over $3 a gallon because we won't do anything about it while we sit on more than enough oil to fix the problem for at least fifty years. The fact that Bush's government is deliberately abetting these issues makes it all that much worse.
So I say to you, Bush supporters, our president has betrayed us. This is not what we voted him in to do. Worse, it is a betrayal of this country's security and its future, and it is a direct betrayal of the oath of office of the President of the United States. He is not defending us against all enemies; he is attacking or crippling every agency whose job it is to do that.
Impeachment is the word that comes to mind. Directly ignoring or violating the oath of office should qualify for impeachment if nothing else. If the Republicans in Congress, assuming there still are any actual Republicans in Congress (after all, they just reauthorized the Voting Right Act, including multi-lingual ballots...despite the fact that you must be a citizen to vote, and you must know English to be a citizen, so.....), should impeach him immediately. And if they won't do it, I hope the Democrats win Congress so they can do it. I will support them every step of the way.
I will not vote for another Bush. Do you hear that Laura? If Jeb runs, I will not vote Republican. Bush's father was a disaster for Republicans, and now so is he. I sure as hell won't vote for another one. As long as the RINOs in Congress keep supporting this nonsense I will not vote Republican at all. I certainly won't vote for Democrats; I'll just stay home on election day. And I know I'm not the only one.
When you're packing up to leave the White House because your husband just got convicted in a Senate trial, maybe you'll believe those polls then Laura. They're being driven down by the people your husband has betrayed., and just maybe we'll get even by sitting back and letting the Democrats take power in November. Ironically, they want to impeach him for none of the things he actually deserves it for, but hey, sometime we'll just take what we can get. You can believe THAT at least. After all, that's how he got elected in the first place.
Without further preamble, let's just say that all the Mexicans in this country who are protesting for their "rights" and all the Mexicans in Mexico who answered polls and said that WE are racists for wanting to enforce our country's laws are hypocrites and/or flat out lying weasels. They are playing the willing media and the Democrats looking for more stupid voters to the hilt, and they're so full of Barbara Streisand we could sprinkle them on our lawns as fertilizer. What do I mean?
In Mexico, more than 75% of those polled oppose making illegal presence in America a crime. Yes, I know how stupid that sounds, since the term "illegal" should, by definition, mean a "crime" has been committed, but apparently in this country crossing the border illegally is no worse than jaywalking. At any rate, Mexicans think it's just horrible that we would criminalize their criminals. Funny, because in Mexico it is a FELONY to be in the country illegally, punishable by two years in prison and/or deportation. No amnesty, no asylum. You come illegally, you get caught, you leave or you go to jail or both. What's good for Mexico is opposed by Mexicans when it's proposed here. Could they be more two faced?
Here, ILLEGAL foreign invaders march around in our streets demanding "rights" that don't exist and they have no grounds to ask for, then call us all kinds of names for daring to say no. In Mexico, foreigners, even LEGAL ones, have no rights and could be jailed or expelled merely for asking for them. Illustration? Very well, how about straight from the Mexican constitution?
---Article 33: “Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.”
---Article 9 states, “only citizens of the Republic may do so to take part in the political affairs of the country.”--referring to protests or other forms of political expression.
---Article 33: “the Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to compel any foreigner whose remaining he may deem inexpedient to abandon the national territory immediately and without the necessity of previous legal action.”
Illegal aliens own homes and businesses here. In Mexico, that would never happen, and even legal immigrants have few rights towards property:
---Article 27 states, “Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters. The State may grant the same right to foreigners, provided they agree before the Ministry of Foreign Relations to consider themselves as nationals in respect to such property, and bind themselves not to invoke the protection of their governments in matters relating thereto; under penalty, in case of noncompliance with this agreement, of forfeiture of the property acquired to the Nation. Under no circumstances may foreigners acquire direct ownership of lands or waters within a zone of one hundred kilometers along the frontiers and of fifty kilometers along the shores of the country.”
Illegals here demand workers' rights and the Mexican president demands that his citizens (illegal invaders) in this country be treated properly. Funny thing, it sure doesn't work that way in Mexico:
---Article 32: “Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions, or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable. In time of peace no foreigner can serve in the Army nor in the police or public security forces.”
---Article 32 bans foreigners, immigrants, and even naturalized citizens of Mexico from serving as military officers, Mexican-flagged ship and airline crew, and chiefs of seaports and airports.
---Article 11 guarantees federal protection against “undesirable aliens resident in the country.”
Illegal aliens here oppose (as if they have any say) local or state authorities being allowed to enforce immigration law, yet in Mexico those same authorities do just that, without authorization. In addition:
---Article 16 states, “in cases of flagrante delicto, any person may arrest the offender and
his accomplices, turning them over without delay to the nearest authorities.”
When it comes to even legal residents, in Mexico foreign-born, naturalized Mexican citizens may not become federal lawmakers (Article 55), cabinet secretaries (Article 91) or supreme court justices (Article 95). They also may not become priests of any kind (Article 130). Only natural-born Mexicans can.
Here, we hear about how illegals are here, but since their children were born here we have to leave them alone. In Mexico, they don't care about that. In fact, in at least one case being a natural-born Mexican isn't enough. Article 82 of the Mexican constitution mandates that the president’s parents also be Mexican-born citizens.
Bottom line? All the things that we are being told we can't do to illegal Mexicans in this country are being done to illegal aliens by Mexicans in THAT country and worse! We're not supposed to have "vigilantes" picking on Mexicans in our country illegally, but just look what happens to illegals in Mexico:
http://www.forbes.com/technology/feeds/ap/2006/04/19/ap2680039.html
At least here, if you're a legal immigrant you have many of the same rights that citizens do. Not so in Mexico. So the next time a Mexican sympathizer starts whining about "immigrants' rights" and all that nonsense, refer them to the Mexicans' own constitution and ask them one question.
If it's good enough for Mexicans in Mexico, why isn't good enough for Mexicans HERE?!
I have a compromise for all the liberals who think we're so evil towards the poor Mexicans. I agree to legislation that only does one thing. We'll call it the Mexican Immigrant Rights Constitutional Reciprocity Act. American immigration law will be changed so that foreigners, legal and illegal, have EXACTLY THE SAME RIGHTS AS THEY WOULD IF THEY WERE IN MEXICO.
That's only fair, right?
RIGHT?
Well folks, I kind of saw this coming, but apparently Mexicans are a little upset with my views. I've received some interesting and really (un)intelligent replies to my recent column, and I thought you'd find them rather revealing of the mindset that is behind all the "si se puede" spewing, Mexican-flag-waving, seekers of the "American" dream.
One example was from a lovely gentleman who put, in the subject line of the email, "hello, ignorant f**ker:D"..you can just guess what he had to say. Among the gems were references to my level of intelligence, my racist tendencies, my apparent laziness, etc. Nary an actual debate of fact to be found. Particularly funny was this bit:
"I won't even take the time to discuss your crazy and extremist rightwing
"views". Please, feel invited to visit my personal weblog. It's in spanish,
and you can read a translated version of your article and more trash about
you in it."
Does he know what irony is? Perhaps he couldn't take time to discuss my views because he was too busy putting them on his blog so he could discuss them there?
At any rate, if you look the website (http://leeme-hmo.blogspot.com), he has annotated my column with various additions of his own. Allow me to sum up:
You're stupid, lazy, ignorant, racist, etc. We're going to take over America, so you better get used to it and learn Spanish.
Sounds like someone qualified to call me racist, to be sure, yes? He also called me unpatriotic. Go figure that one out if you can.
Another fine letter accused me of using a circular argument. Apparently wanting to enforce our borders and laws is circular, because the law breakers just haven't been made legal yet, like slavery was made illegal and women were eventually allowed to vote. Make sense to you? Me either. When I replied, he replied again by saying that any argument against his argument was more circular argument. Pretty convenient. Still, he didn't reply to my question about Mexico's hypocrisy in using its army to seal its border with Guatemala to prevent ILLEGALS from there coming in to Mexico, while telling us we can't do the same in regard to ILLEGAL Mexican invaders. I know, facts to a liberal and all.....
Yet another called me a "kkk activist, redneck" and accused Americans of being "kinda lazzy" just before he advised me to "shut your mouth before some mexican mafioso , or mara salvatrucha gets you." Just makes you tear up when you think of all this individual's fine countrymen who just want to come here for a better life, doesn't it? Why, I just want to drive down there and bring a few back myself, don't you?
By the way, at least two of these came from Mexico itself (according to the authors), if that tells you the reach of the problem. These are also the same people who tell us not to butt into Mexico's affairs when they've locked up one of our citizens for not having the right car insurance or when they nationalize all land owned by Americans in one of their states, right?
Just thought you'd like to see a brief cross section of the other side's version of a reasoned debate. These are the people the Antique Media are painting as victims and "immigrant rights advocates."
They're advocating something alright, and it's the "immigration" of US out of the U.S.
Let me guess. You don't like that title. I'm a racist, bigot, etc. right? I really don't care, and it's about time Republicans and other real Americans stopped caring about it too. It's time to stand up and do what's right, instead of letting political correctness rule over us like the tyrant it is. This has gone way past far enough.
This weekend thousands upon thousands of ILLEGAL immigrants and their criminal abettors marched around demanding their rights. I'm going to capitalize ILLEGAL any time I reference ILLEGAL immigrants, by the way, because for some strange reason everyone seems to leave out ILLEGAL when talking about "immigrant rights." ILLEGAL immigrants are not even immigrants; they are invaders. People who apply to come here, get visas, and abide by our immigration laws are "immigrants." Everyone else who comes here ILLEGALLY is an invader, terrorist, or spy. And they have no business being on our streets, much less being on our streets "demanding" anything.
Their arguments are laughable. One of my favorites, mouthed by the Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio "reconquista" Villaraigosa, is "we play by the rules," and therefore deserve respect, admiration, etc. By definition, someone who is here ILLEGALLY is already not playing by the rules. In addition, he used the "we pay taxes" nonsense. First, who is this "we," anyway? Antonio was born here, and speaks Spanish (poorly) as a second language! Second, if the ILLEGAL is paying taxes, the ILLEGAL is doing it ILLEGALLY. It is ILLEGAL to have a job at all if you are in the country ILLEGALLY. If you are paying taxes, you most likely are using a forged Social Security card and number, and had to show a forged I.D. just to get the job. All those things are also ILLEGAL, Mr. Mayor. Therefore, you are saying that because an ILLEGAL is ILLEGALLY working and ILLEGALLY paying taxes using ILLEGALLY obtained and ILLEGALLY used work documents, that ILLEGAL should be respected and treated as a normal citizen? Did you not take an oath to uphold laws and all that other inconvenient stuff when you were sworn in as Mayor of a supposedly American city?
This is like a bank robber claiming that not only should he not be prosecuted, he deserves respect and rights because, after all, he wasn't caught right away and has a life here, never committed any other crimes (that we know of) and even paid taxes on the money. Sure, he had to falsify the tax return (another crime) to hide the criminal way he got the money, but hey, he did pay, right? That makes him the same as everyone who worked for their money in legal ways doesn't it? It does according to the ILLEGAL rights Nazis.
Another knee-slapper was actually uttered by a protester, who said that ILLEGAL aliens should be protected by the federal government. That one is beyond rational response, as it is so amazingly illogical and just plain stupid. Or how about the people saying we have no right to treat them like criminals? I'm just an average Joe, but it has been my understanding since grade school that when you break the law, you are, by definition, a criminal. Apparently this concept is not taught in Mexican or even American schools anymore.
This is a war, and we are losing. Years ago I predicted that eventually California would become so heavily populated by Mexicans, both legal and ILLEGAL that the political leadership would consist of Mexicans. This is happening now, and is aided by the fact that even though citizenship is required to vote, no one is allowed to even ask if you are a citizen or not when you vote. I predicted that at that point, the laws would be changed to only benefit Mexicans, and eventually the state would vote to give California back to Mexico. At this point we would be at war with Mexico if we wanted to keep one of our own states. The first step in the process has begun. We have the mayor of Los Angeles actively motivating and advocating ILLEGAL activity and actively campaigning against the enforcement of both our laws and national borders. And it's even worse than that.
The city of Maywood, California is now run by Mexicans, for Mexicans. The city council is stacked with them, the laws haven been changed to benefit them, or the laws simply are not enforced at all. The city council dissolved the entire traffic division of the police department, because ILLEGALS were being inconvenienced by enforcement of our traffic laws. This is actually a rather severe step, given that most cities get a good portion of their revenue from traffic fines here in California. At a city council meeting, conducted primarily in SPANISH, members of the crowd were allowed to heckle one of the city council members for refusing to conduct the meeting and address the council and the crowd in SPANISH. In an AMERICAN city! A couple accounts of this is here:
http://www.desertdispatch.com/2006/114321277232314.html
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/03/25/wimm25.xml
Notice, one of these is from a British newspaper. Apparently the "unbiased" Antique Media doesn't think it's a story when an American city is effectively a way-station for the Mexican invasion of America.
And that's what it is. America had better wake up. Republicans need to find their marbles and stop trying to placate the forces of invasion. Stop worrying about labels like racist or bigot, because if you don't one thing is becoming alarmingly clear. The next label you'll have to worry about is what citizenship will be on your birth certificate if you're born in California, and eventually any state in the Southwest. We need to say to immigrants who want to be Americans legally, "welcome." To everyone else we need to say "go home!"
UPDATE: Read this column by Mac Johnson on this subject. He said tons that I left out:

"What would happen if Christians devoted the same discipline and self-sacrifice to nonviolent peacemaking that armies devote to war?"
This the question at the top of the so-called "Christian Peacemaker Teams" website. The answer is...you get a lot of dead Christians and change absolutely nothing.
American (and I use the term loosely) hostage Tom Fox was found tortured and murdered recently. He was a proud member of the Christian Peacemaker Teams and was in Iraq to protest the U.S. The people who he was there to "advocate" for kidnapped, tortured, and murdered him. I guess the old saying about no good deeds going unpunished needs revision. How about "no stupid liberal goes without poetic justice?" For all the high-minded, we're-better-than-you liberal so-called Christians who only seem to care about all the "evils" of America, this is your wake-up call. Maybe if they kill enough of you, you'll figure it out? I doubt it, and here's why.
You see, the Christian Peacemaker Teams' slogan (http://www.cpt.org/index.html) is "committed to reducing violence by getting in the way." The problem is, if you take a look at their projects, they only seem to want to get in the way of the good guys. The protest against Israel and the U.S. at every turn, yet they don't seem to have much to say about kidnapping, torture, murder, suicide bombers, etc. unless it's to justify it by again blaming the good guys. These people even have an "adopt a detainee" campaign (supposedly ended, but its link and its "justification" is still up). While decent people are supporting the troops with "adopt a soldier" and variations of it, the "Christians" in this organization want you to adopt a terrorist or aspiring martyr.
When the American security employees were murdered and their bodies hung from a bridge, where were these people? When hostages were being beheaded and broadcast on Al-Jazeera, aka The Jihadist News Network, did the Christian Peacemaker Teams spend any time "getting in the way" there? And now that the poor, oppressed victims of Western Imperialism have torture and murdered one of your own in payment for your efforts to "advocate" for them, have you learned which side is which yet? Not according to your website.
There's another saying that comes to mind here, which is "a liberal is a conservative who hasn't been mugged yet." If these people would ever learn, maybe that would be true. Unfortunately it appears that a Christian Peacemaker Team member is just another body that hasn't been murdered yet. Given that good men and women on the side of freedom are dying everyday working for the side of good instead of the side of evil, I don't feel too bad about it.
You wanted to get in the way, well you got your wish.
I've had a really hard time listening to some of the insane nonsense coming
out of liberal pundits, blogs, and the Antique Media (thanks to Rush for that
one). So here's a sample and my take:
The UAE port deal. This is one of Bush's big mind
benders. He talks security and the War on Terror, then wants to give a
questionable state-owned firm from the UAE control of six of our major
ports? This is right up there with his "there's no amnesty for
illegals" amnesty idea. Oh, my mistake, "guest worker" program.
But hey, we have lots of assurances from Michael Chertoff that it's all
okay. And since Mikey likes it, it must be good! Hey Mikey,
remember when you said "no more catch and release" on the illegal
alien issue? What do you call the 20,000 or so illegals caught and
released since the day you vowed it would stop? Still, maybe I'm wrong on
this port deal. After all, Jimmy Carter endorses it.
Oh, and all you "Arab-Americans" like James Zogby, president of
the Arab American Institute who are crying about anti-Arab bigotry because some
smart people don't like this idiotic deal......here's a clue for you.
Maybe if you stopped looking at everything as an "Arab" issue and
just called yourselves Americans, the rest of us might treat you like just
Americans instead of Arabs. Just a thought.
The Saddam tapes. I know you liberals and the media (I know,
it's redundant) like to keep on with your "no WMDs were found"
nonsense, but come on. These tapes lay it all out in literally Saddam's
own words how his "non-existent" WMD programs were very
existent. Also, in the last couple of weeks not one, but two of his
former generals confirmed what at least one of his former nuclear scientists
has said...the weapons and materials were moved to Syria just a week or two
before we invaded. This is all documented and confirmed by those who were
actually involved in the issue, yet NO major media have covered it AT
ALL. That wouldn't be because then you'd have to stop calling Bush a
liar, would it? Nah. Good thing there's no media bias, huh?
The Olympics. What a joke for us! I'm not talking about
medals here. I'm talking about the idiotic behavior of the selfish jerks
we send over to represent us as our so-called "best" athletes.
From Johnny Weir's weird excuses (didn't have his aura, or something) to
Lindsey Jacobellis' stupid stunt at the finish of the snowboard cross that cost
us a medal, these freaks are making us look like fools. Loser Lindsey's
take on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? "It's just a race,"
she said. "I still won a silver. It's still something to come here
for." "Oh, well. It happens." And my personal
favorite: "I really don't care what people think." She
doesn't care what people think? That useless sack of selfish
debris! When you are an Olympian, you are there to represent your
country, not play around and then make excuses for being a moron. When
you do stupid, selfish crap and blow a sure medal, you screw ALL OF US.
The fact that she doesn't understand that is a real sign of the low to which
the culture is sinking (thanks, liberal public "schools"). Oh
well, what can we expect when we make snowboarding and beach volleyball Olympic
sports? They should make another movie about unlikely people going to the
Olympics, only this time they can call it "Fool Runnings."
Last but not least, the Cheney hunting accident. Next time, Dick,
take the White House press with you and accidentally shoot them. All of
them. With a flame thrower. These self-important, whiny losers have
dragged this non-story into a second week and at least two magazine
covers. All because they didn't get told first, as they are apparently
meant to as laid down in the Constitution, the Ten Commandments, and Supreme
Court rulings. Meanwhile, the Saddam tapes go unreported, Iran's building
nukes on page A24, and Hamas is running its own country and none of the
self-appointed guardians of our "right to know" cares more about any
of those things than they do about Cheney not telling them personally and first
about something that happens hundreds of times every hunting season. And
they wonder why Fox News has better ratings then any other network.
By the way, Antique Media, where were you guys when Hillary was late for a
fundraiser a few years ago and her van ran a security checkpoint, resulting in
the injury and hospitalization of a security guard? How come you never
reported it and never asked why Hillary didn't run to you to report it
herself? How come Cheney can call and check on his victim several times a
day and not get any credit in the press while neither Hillary nor anyone in her
office bothered to check on the welfare of the guard they almost killed by
breaking through his checkpoint and has never been called on it? Must be
more of that unbiased media at work again.
There you have it. Time to find the Pepto and get ready for the rest of
the week.
Rarely does such a blatant and easily illustrated example of liberal hypocrisy rear its obvious head as this one does, ladies and gentlemen. There is a religious belief being foisted upon the rest of us by fundamentalist religious nuts and liberals have nothing to say, unless they are blaming US for it! The very concept of separation of church and state is being totally and completely undermined, and liberals are actually FOR that!
You know what I mean of course. All over Europe, Asia, and the Middle East Muslims are rioting, murdering, burning and threatening more of the same because their religion has been "offended." What's worse, the rest of the world actually did not immediately consent to all Islamic demands to cease publishing anything it didn't like. Well, okay some of the world did, but their embassies and cultural centers are still being burned, so congrats, weanie-spined French wannabes!
In other words, a religious group is demanding that the majority of the world that is NOT part of their religion comply with their religious beliefs and practices. Or else. And unlike "right-wing extremist Christian fundamentalist" morality pushers here in evil America, they're not talking about protest emails or product boycotts. It's never offend a Muslim, or we burn down everything not Muslim whether it's related to what offended us or not. Oh, and we'll call for the murder of the offender as well. Plus, end that stupid "freedom of the press" stuff. If your government refuses to instantly shut down any newspapers we don't like and jail the publishers, we go after your citizens and embassies all over the world too. Now, I know as a knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, cave-dwelling Republican I'm not too bright, but are the Muslims trying to "shove their religion down our throats" or is it just me?
At first I was afraid of this new threat to my ability to live life without having someones "morality shoved down my throat" but then I realized that in no time we would all be rescued. The ACLU, People For the American Way, etc. would roll into town in their electric cars and put a stop to all this religious intolerance and attempts to turn the world into a giant theocracy. Any second now. Any...second....now........
Alas, it was not to be. I was however treated to the usual "it's all our fault" tirades from the lefties who are now claiming it's OUR fault for not being more sensitive! Would someone please point the "holier than thou" (ironic isn't it?) liberal laser at Kanye West? Is a so-called music "star" portraying himself as Jesus LESS blasphemous then a cartoon showing the prophet of the Religion of Pieces (preferably Israeli or American pieces) as a terrorist? When Christians protested that cover (notice.."protest" rather than "shot, burned, rioted, etc."), they were ridiculed and told to shut up by the very same people now defending the latest excuse for Johnny Jihad to warm up the Bang Mobile. It's a bird, it's a plane...it's a liberal in his never-ending fight for hypocrisy and the I-hate-Christianity-and-the-American-Way way!
Any....second....now......
